Galaxy Tab Update: Android Gingerbread 2.3.3

We've been waiting for the updates for the Samsung Galaxy Tab for quite some time. The Android update has been around the whole world for several months, but fails to reach United Kingdom until the middle of this week. The latest version is for update for Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread.

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 inch (P1000) need to use Samsung proprietary software called Samsung Kies in order to update the tablet. The update is easy enough but I put up some of the screen shots of the update for guidance.

  • Download and install Samsung Kies 2.0. (link)
  • USB connector to PC. (comes together with the charger)
  • Make sure your Galaxy Tab is fully charged.

1. Turn on Samsung Kies 2.0
2. Connect the Samsung Galaxy Tab to the PC using the USB connector.

3. Samsung Kies will automatically recognise the device and there would be an update pop up as follows.
4. Push "Update".

5. A firmware upgrade caution will come out, and read all the information listed. Check the "I have read all of the above information"

6. Select all data you wanted to be backed up. (Highly recommended)

7. Wait until all the backup ended.

8. Follow the installation process one by one.

10. After the update reach 100%, your Galaxy Tab will show some codes and it will restart automatically.
11. The software will ask to apply all the backup that have been made earlier.

12. Wait until all the backup finishes, and the device is restart.

After the update and backup restore, you will now have a Galaxy Tab running Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread. Notice that several icons such as the battery indicator, and browser button, are now green instead of blue.

To confirm the update, go to the home page of Galaxy Tab, click 'menu' button, select 'settings', and select 'device information'. Observe the android version 2.3.3. Enjoy.

Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2

We were not Harry Potter fans. However, considering we are currently living in the country of origin of the franchise, we watched some of the movies, and turned out to be a fan ourselves.

Personally I think the reason why we were not a fan in the first place is because we were too accustomed to hear American accent of the English language. So every time I watched a British movie, it turned out to be a wee bit  hard to understand. Furthermore, at the early stage of the franchise, it was either to watch Harry Potter or Lord of The Rings... and of course I go to a more mature LoTR rather than kid-stuff HP.

However, now after living for quite a while in Britain, we became more accustomed with the accent and feel strange with American. So now that we became fans, we finished watching the whole franchise up till the first part of Deathly Hallows. Loving all of them except the HP7P1 where the story left us hanging and wanting more.

To end up the whole franchise, we are going to watch the final movie (Harry Potter 7 Deathly Hallows Part 2) in Cinema, in 3D this evening! I hope there is no more part where the snakes come out of the screen (or else people will be wasting their popcorn on the floor).

We also intended to buy BluRays of the whole franchise.. but after a year of course. I'm expecting the price would be around £45 when they launched it, and hoping it will go down dramatically after that. I'm hoping to buy all of them for a tenner? please?

Alam maya

Gembira dan sedih di dalam situasi ini.
Gembira sebab adik dah selamat kahwin.
Tapi sedih sebab tiada di tempat kejadian bersama-sama keluarga meraikannya. Pengorbanan kami :(
Kami hanya menyaksikan penikahan mereka melalui webcam. Dia cantik! Sangat! Inilah pertama kali adik beradik saya berkahwin selepas saya. Dan saya tidak dapat menyaksikannya sendiri. Sangat sedih. Tapi apakan daya.
Bukan sengaja kami tidak mahu pulang, tapi situasi kami yang tidak mengizinkan. Pengorbanan kami

p/s: Bukan kami tak mahu..
