Starting from 2011, Renault F1 team has sold their shares and the one that bought it is Proton and Lotus. Even though, the team will continue to race using the name Renault with Lotus branding on the back and at the nose tip of 2011 F1 race cars.
They are also saying that Renault F1 has change its... should I say 'nationality' to British because Lotus has been the main stake holder of the racing team after this. If Renault ever win the F1 constructors championship, the song that they will sing is the British anthem followed by rising of the Union Jack.
..... WAIT A MINUTE!
How come if Renault win, they are going to sing the British anthem? Because of Lotus? Lotus major stake holder is Proton for crying out loud. The song that they should sing if Renault won 2011 F1 championship is no other than 'Negaraku'. Maybe it is because people don't trust Proton, but what the heck, why should we waste money just to put other country ahead of us?
Sometimes I wonder why Malaysian has to be so involved in F1 racing after all. We have already 2 racing team in the game, and still trying to buy more? Maybe some day Malaysia will own the whole F1 championship and the Prime Minister of Malaysia should be the next Bernie Ecclestone.
In another story, Lotus is lending UK West Midlands Police one of their super car; Lotus Evora. It is a part of a loaning process where the police force will be able to test the car for 2 weeks.
With 276 bhp, 3.5 liters V6 engine, giving the car 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds, and the top speed of 162 mph, traffic users will think twice before trying to exceed the speed limit and/or out running the police this time.
The Lotus Exora police car will be active in M5, M6 and M42 for the time being. I hope that Lotus could lend their Evora to Malaysian Royal Police Force... not Exora please :).
